Four organizations of the Spiritual Care Collaborative came together in 2008 to conduct a confidential salary and compensation survey with their collective membership, and 1,292 individuals participated. Employees and human resource representatives alike may use findings from this initiative to gauge salary and benefit levels in different parts of the country.

The survey results provide the most up to date tool available on detailed employment information for chaplains. It is the hope that this information will empower you to propose additional chaplaincy positions in your department, strengthen current positions or assist you should you seek a new position.

Members of Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains and National Association of Jewish Chaplains have access to this salary survey as a member benefit through their association’s Web site.
